Google has made its AI-powered Dreambeans app available to users in India, expanding the service beyond its U.S. debut.
September 2023
Dreambeans was first released in the United States as an experimental tool that converts data from Google services into personalized illustrated stories.
3 November 2026
Google announced the India rollout, stating the app is open to anyone aged 18 or older. The service is offered on Android and iOS and supports 14 languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada, Punjabi, Assamese and Nepali.
Functionality
The app draws on information from Google Calendar, Gemini, Gmail, Photos, Search and YouTube to generate daily story collections tailored to a user’s interests and recent activity. Users can explore each story, bookmark items, or share them with others.
User controls
Dreambeans includes a thumbs‑down button for content that is irrelevant or incorrect. Users can also delete their data from the app’s settings, which removes the information from Google’s system.
Current status
Google encourages feedback to improve story relevance over time. The company says the app aims to connect users with meaningful content without the need for endless scrolling.
Why it matters:
The launch gives Indian users a new way to consume personalized, AI‑generated narratives based on their digital habits, potentially influencing how local audiences discover events, arts and cultural content across multiple regional languages.
