Startup Aina Unveils AI-Powered Smart Ring for Task Automation

A startup based in Bengaluru and San Francisco has introduced a new wearable device designed to integrate artificial intelligence into daily tasks. The Aina smart ring features a color display, voice command capabilities, and gesture controls, aiming to reduce the need for smartphone interaction. The device is priced at $499, with pre-orders currently available at a reduced rate of $399.

January 2027

The company announced that shipments for the device are scheduled to commence in early 2027. Unlike existing health-focused smart rings, this hardware is intended to function as an interface for AI agents. The device weighs less than 13 grams and is constructed with a titanium body. It includes haptic feedback, directional audio, and a battery life of up to 18 hours.

Operational Capabilities

Aina has structured the ring’s functionality around three primary features: Cues, Voice, and Remote. The Cues system analyzes user routines and connected applications to anticipate needs, such as ride-booking, without requiring an explicit request. A five-way joystick control allows users to approve or reject these suggestions. The Voice feature enables users to dictate notes, send messages via platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram, and manage calendar meetings. The Remote feature serves as a controller for external electronics, including smart home appliances and music playback.

Current Status

The device is currently available for pre-order. Aina demonstrated integrations with several services, including Uber, Spotify, and Apple Music, during its private launch event in Bengaluru. The company positions the ring as a tool to bridge the gap between AI intelligence and user accessibility by minimizing friction in digital interactions.

Why it matters: This development highlights a shift in wearable technology toward proactive AI assistance. For users in the Middle East and globally, the ability to manage ride-hailing services, messaging apps, and home automation through a single, gesture-controlled device represents a significant change in how consumers interact with digital ecosystems.
