Myntra Reports ₹582 Cr Loss in FY26 as Revenue Declines

Fashion ecommerce platform Myntra reported a net loss of ₹581.8 crore for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, marking a significant reversal from the ₹546.3 crore profit recorded in the prior year. The Bengaluru-based company’s operating revenue fell by 13.5% to ₹5,242.5 crore, down from ₹6,063.8 crore in FY25.

Revenue Shifts and Operational Costs

Myntra derives revenue from three primary streams: marketplace services, logistics services, and advertisement services. Marketplace and collection services generated ₹2,657.3 crore, a 3% increase over the previous year. Advertisement services also saw growth, rising 35.2% to ₹1,236.4 crore. However, logistics and shipping services revenue declined 53.2% to ₹1,119.2 crore.

Total expenses for the period remained largely stable, increasing by 0.6% to ₹5,757.7 crore. Employee benefit expenses, which include salaries, bonuses, and staff welfare, rose 3.8% to ₹776.9 crore. The company’s EBITDA loss narrowed to ₹435 crore, compared to ₹535.9 crore in FY25.

Corporate Strategy and Leadership

Flipkart, which acquired the startup in 2014, advised stakeholders to review the consolidated financials of Flipkart Internet Private Limited to understand the broader group’s performance. The parent company, backed by Walmart, reported an 18.2% increase in consolidated operating revenue to ₹1.45 lakh crore, with losses narrowing by 2.1% to ₹8,468 crore.

Leadership changes accompanied the financial results. Sharon Pais was appointed to lead the fashion marketplace, succeeding Nandita Sinha. Additionally, the company hired Instacart executive Pramod Adiddam as its chief technology officer.

Why it matters: The financial performance of Myntra reflects broader trends in the Indian ecommerce sector, where established platforms are navigating shifts in revenue streams and operational costs. For observers in the Middle East and Egypt, where digital commerce expansion is also accelerating, these results highlight the challenges of balancing growth with profitability in competitive online retail markets.
