Uptown 6 October for Development and Investment has signed a memorandum of understanding with the UK-based Fashion House Group (FHG) to build an outlet mall in New October City. The project, titled Fashion House International Outlet Egypt at Grand Uptown Mall (GUM), involves planned investments exceeding EGP 6 billion.
Project Details and Scope
The development is designed to integrate retail, hospitality, entertainment, and business facilities. According to the company, the mall will occupy approximately 90,000 square meters of leasable space. Emtelak Real Estate Investment Fund is participating as a strategic investment partner.
The facility will feature several distinct zones, including the Fashion House International Outlet, GUM Luxury House, and The Fashion House Street. Amenities will include a boutique hotel, cinema, entertainment venues, restaurants, and a business club. The site will also host an Egypt Crafts Gallery dedicated to local handicrafts. An integrated e-commerce platform is planned to support delivery and click-and-collect services for customers across Egypt, with potential plans to expand into regional markets.
Timeline and Strategic Partnerships
The first phase of the project is scheduled to open in October 2028, pending the finalization of designs, construction, and regulatory approvals. Under the agreement, FHG will oversee leasing strategies, brand acquisition, and operational management. The group brings over 25 years of experience in outlet development with previous projects in Romania, Poland, and Russia.
Uptown 6 October also announced several additional agreements during the event. These include a partnership with GSM Holding to manage educational institutions and an extension of the agreement for the British International School from 15 to 25 years. The company also engaged Alpha Financial Investment Management to manage investment activities.
