Awfis Q2 Net Profit Near Doubles as Revenue Rises 20%

In a modest office on Delhi’s Connaught Place, Awfis CEO Amit Ramani reviewed a spreadsheet showing a net profit of ₹30.8 crore for the September quarter, almost double the figure a year earlier.

The coworking provider reported a 92.8% year‑on‑year increase in consolidated net profit, climbing from ₹16 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. Sequentially, profit rose 28.5% from ₹24 crore in the prior quarter.

Operating revenue also expanded, reaching ₹438.7 crore, a 19.6% jump from ₹366.9 crore a year ago. On a quarter‑to‑quarter basis, revenue grew 3.2% to ₹424.9 crore.

Other income contributed ₹25.6 crore, bringing total income for the period to ₹464.3 crore. The company recorded a tax expense of ₹44.2 lakh and reported no exceptional items, resulting in comprehensive income of ₹30.6 crore.

Expenses rose 15% year‑on‑year to ₹433 crore, up from ₹376.6 crore, reflecting higher staffing and facility costs as the firm expands its footprint.

Impact and Market Reaction

Analysts noted that the profit surge underscores the resilience of flexible office space demand in India, even as traditional leasing slows. Investors welcomed the earnings beat, citing the firm’s ability to generate additional income streams beyond core rentals.

Awfis plans to reinvest a portion of the earnings into new locations and technology upgrades, aiming to capture a larger share of the post‑pandemic work‑from‑home market.

Outlook

Looking ahead, the company expects revenue growth to stay in the high‑teens range for the next quarter, driven by corporate renewals and new client acquisitions.

Why it matters: The strong performance of Awfis signals robust demand for coworking solutions in India’s evolving work environment, offering businesses flexible space options and investors a growing sector to watch.
