ORA Iraq Partners with CRC Dorra to Kick Off Phase One Construction of Madinat Al Ward

On a bright morning in Baghdad, ORA Iraq’s chairperson Naguib Sawiris stood beside Dorra Group’s vice chairperson Mohamed Dorra as they signed a new agreement that will soon see cranes and concrete shaping the first phase of Madinat Al Ward.

From earthworks to foundations

The ceremony followed the completion of earthworks and ground preparation carried out by POWERCHINA, which cleared the site and set the stage for the next step. With those tasks finished, CRC Dorra – the construction arm of the Dorra Group, a company founded in 1943 with more than eight decades of engineering experience across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar and Iraq – is now ready to break ground on the residential, commercial and hospitality components of the master‑planned community.

Why the partnership matters

ORA’s choice of CRC Dorra reflects a deliberate strategy to work with firms that combine a proven track record, technical know‑how and the capacity to deliver large‑scale, integrated projects. The Dorra Group’s long history of design‑and‑build services gives ORA confidence that the quality standards it envisions for Madinat Al Ward will be met, and that the development will align with the aspirations of future residents.
