Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly departed Cairo International Airport on Sunday morning, heading to New York to lead his country’s delegation at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. The trip follows a directive from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

The Egyptian cabinet stated that Madbouly will deliver speeches and statements during various events throughout the assembly. His schedule includes high-level bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the session. He also plans to hold discussions with leaders of international organizations and representatives from global corporations across multiple sectors.
UN Assembly Context
The 81st session of the UNGA opened on September 8 under the theme, “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations in the Service of All.” Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister, Khalilur Rahman, chairs the session, which runs until September 2027. The General Debate is scheduled to begin on September 22, with high-level meetings continuing through September 29.
