Imagine a future where Africa relies less on outside sources for its medicine. That is exactly what Egypt and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) are working toward. During the World Health Summit in Berlin, Egyptian Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and AUDA-NEPAD’s Nardos Bekele-Thomas met to kickstart a new partnership aimed at ramping up local vaccine and drug manufacturing across the continent.
