Standing before the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly warned that the two-state solution faces unprecedented challenges. Representing President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Madbouly stated on Wednesday that regional stability requires a political settlement based on June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of an independent Palestinian state.
Addressing Regional Conflict
Madbouly identified Israeli settlement expansion and violence in the West Bank as primary threats to peace. He rejected any displacement of Palestinians or land annexation. The Prime Minister urged the implementation of international resolutions to secure a ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian aid in Gaza. These remarks followed his participation in a regional summit earlier in the week, where discussions focused on consolidating ceasefires and reconstruction efforts.
