Deepening Bilateral Cooperation

Swiss Ambassador to Egypt Andreas Baum announced a strengthened partnership between the two nations across economic, scientific, and cultural sectors during a recent event in Cairo.

  • The nations launched a cooperation program for 2025–2028 focusing on governance, environmental sustainability, and humanitarian support.
  • Over 100 Swiss companies currently operate in Egypt, contributing to job creation and industrial production.
  • Switzerland has returned approximately 80 cultural artifacts to Egypt since 2011, with the most recent return involving a second-century BC funerary mask.
  • A joint archaeology forum is scheduled for November 8 at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization to foster expert collaboration.

Ambassador Baum also noted that both countries continue to address shared challenges, including climate change and water security. #Egypt #Switzerland #Diplomacy #Economy
